Determining the extent of the area rendered sharply
You can also use [Snapshot Mode] to easily adjust the depth of field, i.e. which parts are
rendered sharply and which are not, as with [Aperture-Priority] mode.
Press
Turn the control ring to determine the extent of the depth of
field
• [AUTO] is displayed in the icon during automatic
adjustment.
• You can also make adjustments with and the
control dial.
• To return to automatic adjustment:
Press the [Q MENU/ ] button

Press [MENU/SET] to finalize the setting
When you record motion pictures, the camera controls the aperture within the
appropriate exposure range, and the depth of field may not change for some subject
brightness levels.
You can use [Snapshot Plus Mode] to adjust brightness and coloring. (→35)
If the camera is turned off or the recording mode is changed, the depth of field setting
returns to [AUTO].
