Automatically locking the focus on a moving subject
Aim the AF Tracking frame at the subject, and then press the
shutter button halfway
AF Tracking frame
When the subject is recognized, the AF Tracking frame changes
from white to yellow, and the subject is automatically kept in
focus.
If AF Lock fails, the frame flashes red.
• To switch off AF Tracking → Press [MENU/SET].
• The focus range is the same as macro recording
Under certain recording conditions, such as when the subject is small or dark, (AF
Tracking) may not operate correctly.
(AF Tracking) is not available in the following cases.
• [Starry Sky] Scene mode
• [Creative Control] mode ([Sepia] [Dynamic Monochrome] [High Dynamic]
[Toy Effect] [Miniature Effect] [Soft Focus])
• [Panorama Shot] mode
• [Color Mode] ([B&W] [SEPIA])
When you press the shutter button halfway to activate AF lock, the AF Assist Lamp
will not turn on.
