this feature will slow the shutter speed when the
flash is fired so that the dark background will
become bright. Simultaneously it reduces the
red-eye phenomenon

The effect of red-eye reduction varies depending on the subject and is affected by factors
such as distance to the subject, whether the subject is looking at the camera during the
initial flash, and so on. In some cases, the effect of red-eye reduction may be negligible.

Flash settings may be changed automatically when changing recording modes.

Scene Mode flash settings are restored to default when the Scene Mode is changed.

If the flash illumination is insufficient for a subject, neither the proper exposure nor an
appropriate White Balance is achieved.
