Focusing is based on the subject registered in the center of the picture. (Recommended
when focusing is difficult, or when it is supposed to be based on a specific off-center
detail)

Focus is fixed to (1-area-focusing) in the following cases:
• With [Miniature Effect] in [Creative Control] Mode
• [High Speed Video] in [Creative Video Mode]
The AF area display may be larger depending on recording conditions such as dark
locations or the set focal length.
Locking the focus
When a subject you want to base focusing on is not in the center of the monitor image,
use the following procedure.
Aim the AF area at the subject
Hold down halfway
Focus display
When focus is set: illuminated
When focus is not possible: flashing
AF area
When focus is set: green
When focus is not possible: red
Return to desired composition
