Manual focusing
- 105 -
You can focus using the [ND/FOCUS] lever even during motion picture recording.
Note, however, that indications such as MF assist and depth of field range are not
displayed.
After changing the focal length, i.e. zooming, refocus.
The depth of field range displayed by Manual Focus is an approximation. Confirm the
focus setting on the monitor image ([MF Assist] screen).
After canceling [Sleep Mode], be sure to refocus.
When Manual Focus is used together with AE Lock, it is easier to confirm the focus.
Enlarged display (MF assist)
When [MF Assist] in the [Setup] menu is [ON] and you focus manually, an enlarged
display appears.
• By pushing the [ND/FOCUS] lever during an enlarged display, you can set the
magnification to approx. 5x, 10x or 4x (only at the center of the screen).
• Approximately 2 seconds after manually focusing, the display switches to normal.
To change the position of an enlarged display
Press [MENU/SET] during the manual focusing operation (while the enlarged
display is displayed)
Use cursor buttons to move the enlarged display
• To return the enlarged display to the center → Press the [DISP] button
Press [MENU/SET]
MF assist is not displayed in the Digital Zoom area.
1 Shot AF
When [1 Shot AF] is registered in [Fn Button Set], you can press once to activate
Autofocus temporarily and focus on the subject.
