AF Tracking
Align the subject with the AF Tracking frame and then press
the [AF/AE LOCK] button
AF Tracking frame
When the subject is recognized, the AF Tracking frame changes
from white to yellow, and the subject is automatically kept in
focus.
If AF Lock fails, a red frame flashes.
• To release AF Tracking → Press the [AF/AE LOCK] button.
• Focus range (same as macro recording)
Under certain conditions, such as when the subject is small or dark, (AF Tracking)
may not operate correctly. When it does not work, the [AF Mode] will be switched to
(1-area-focusing).
(AF Tracking) is not available in the following cases.
• With [Panorama Shot] Scene Mode
• With [Creative Control] Mode ([Sepia] [Dynamic Monochrome] [High Dynamic]
[Toy Effect] [Soft Focus] [Miniature Effect] [Radial Defocus])
• With the [Monochrome] setting in [Photo Style]
• [Creative Video Mode]
Focusing on off-center subjects
With this mode, focusing is based on the closest registered object in the 23 metered
areas.
