[iHDR]
When [iHDR] is set to [ON] and there is, for example, strong contrast between different
parts of the subject, multiple still pictures are recorded with differing exposures and
combined to create a single still picture rich in gradation.

This function is automatically activated only when (→49) is displayed on the monitor.
In the case that a single picture is going to be composed from a series of exposures,
a message indicating that multiple pictures are to be recorded appears on the screen
and the exposure series is carried out. Note that an exposure series will not take
place if the camera determines that it can compensate for the difference in contrast in
a single exposure.
In the case of composition from an exposure series, the resulting image may appear if
the subject was moving.
The camera does not combine pictures in the following cases:
• When the zoom ratio exceeds 3.8x
• With [Burst Shooting] mode
